Welcome to our classroom!

My name is Lynnette Knapp and I am excited to be teaching my third year at Bradford Elementary School. BES is a very special learning community and I'm glad to be a part of it. I have 13 amazing children in my classroom this year. They're full of excitement, curiosity, and enthusiasm for learning. Here's a look inside our classroom.

Currently in math, we're working on a Geometry unit called Size, Shape, and Symmetry.
Students are using power polygons to develop ideas about the attributes of 2-dimensional shapes and how these attributes determine their classification.

Power Polygons

Power Polygons

We play a game with Power Polygons called Guess My Rule. One person thinks of a rule and without telling anyone the rule, puts two of the Power Polygons that fit the rule on a piece of paper and one that does not fit off the paper. The other player(s) then choose polygons to place as "fits the rule" or "does not fit the rule." Once you think you know what the rule is, you can say you want to tell the rule.
