The Board of Trustees of our school are investigating the merits of changing our unique tax status. Most town governments in Vermont collect school taxes and provide the funds to run the school. When the Bradford Academy and Graded School District was incorporated in 1893 it had the authority to collect its own taxes. Only a few schools still continue this process. The Selectboard and the Trustees have charged a committee to investigate the pros and cons of such a change. The agenda for the first meeting is printed below. We hope to have parents involved in this process.
Dear Parents, There were lots of smiles yesterday as children had their pictures snapped. Packets of pictures will be processed within a few weeks. We will schedule a make-up day at that time for anyone who is not completely satisfied with their child's picture. Class pictures will be available for every child, but they will not be processed until after retakes are done.
HAPPENINGS THIS WEEK Early in the week second graders participated in a butterfly walk. On Thursday third graders visited Low St. John Forest for a field trip. On Friday the 4-6th grades had morning assembly. Third graders husked 20 dozen ears of corn- 10 dozen went in the freezer and 10 dozen were served at lunch on Thursday- and thank you to the families that picked the corn last Saturday!
