Expectations and Promises
I have some expectations and promises to share with you.
Most of all, I expect you to respect yourself and others. That simply means that you should not say, or do things that hurt people - including yourself. I promise to respect you as well.
I also promise to be responsible for teaching you this year, and for doing that best I can to help you develop as a learner. However, I expect you to be responsible for a dn take charge of your learning. I can't make you learn, and I can't make you do your work, and neither can you parents; only you can do that by becoming involved, staying interested, and working hard both at school and at home.
As a fifth grader, you may also expect to have fun in many ways: socializing with your friends, learning both cooperatively and independently, celebrating important milestones, and realizing growth and success.
If we all respect one another and promise to do our jobs to the best of our abilities, then we can expect to have a wonderful year together!
