During the month of February, the fifth grade worked with Ms.Gaudette and Mr. McCracken to create Arbor Day posters for a statewide contest. The theme was “Trees are Terrific and Energy Wise.” All of the students did a wonderful job illustrating how trees influence our energy use. Six posters, created by Tausha W., Alexandria G., Cassidy P, Austin W., Britteny B. and Elana B., were submitted to the district office for judging. Tashua was selected as the district winner. The statewide winner is decided by votes from online voting by students, family and friends and then forwarded on to the National contest.
Starting on Monday, March 15th at 10am, visit this web site www.vtfpr.org/urban/ArborDayPoster.cfmto see all five state entries and vote for your choice of the best poster. Voting begins on then and closes exactly a week later at March 22nd at 10am. The winner will be announced the next day.
